Beginning lite coding on RoR

October 10th, 2007 · No Comments

In RoR, I’ve generated a controller (Site) with an index, about,  contact and help page. I’m using Aptana IDE (Radrails) and see the Site controller in the File directory, but can’t open it so I cant view the command structure.  Funny thing is I see the same directory with the same name in the project sans the Site Controller.  Ok, I just realized that I had to drag and drop the controller .rb file into the editor.  Like an idiot I was double clicking on it.

I am having problems accessing the API which I installed on my local machine and am trying to use gemserver to view it @ localhost:8808.  My machine is saying that gemserver is not recognized as an internal or external command.

Also, Im trying to do a rm command at the dos prompt and its not accepting that command either does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

Its getting late and I have to prepare my daughters for school in the morning.

Anyone in the know. I’d appreciate a chime in.

Thanks
